[July 10, 2019]  LINCOLN - The American Legion Post 263 Auxiliary believes in promoting patriotism and Americanism in our young students.

With the Americanism Essay Contest, we feel that it gives them an opportunity to be part of an activity that enhances the ideals of Americanism, Patriotism and Good Citizenship.

This years’ topic was “What are My Responsibilities as a U. S. Citizen?” There were many different and interesting ideas on what the responsibilities were ranging from respect, following the law and the Constitution, voting, being tolerant and accepting different race, religion and ethnic background.

Nathan Arnold placed first at the 11th and 12th grade level. Placing second was Clint Cook and Sarah Sarasta placed third.
