[June 01, 2019]  LINCOLN - The First Presbyterian Church of Lincoln is sponsoring a new youth arts center called The Center for Creativity & Community.

The purpose of the Center is to offer a sanctuary for youth to be themselves, explore their creativity, and strengthen their connection within and with others.

They will begin with a summer program offered free to youth from 6th to 8th grade. In conjunction with the Lincoln summer lunches that begin June 5th, the Center is offering their program on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from June 5th to August 1st, 12:30-5:00 PM. The program will be a combination of free time, organized activities, group discussion, guest presenters, and outings--such as art, writing, theatre games, and nature outings. Members from the Lincoln community will be facilitating the program.

The Center is located at the First Presbyterian Church, 301 Pekin Street, directly behind the Junior High School. The Junior High is one of the two schools hosting the summer lunches, which makes attendance to the Center easily accessible. Their facility offers spacious areas for youth to gather and engage in a variety of individual and group activities.
