Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation Accepting Applications for Educational Grants Program

The Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation’s educational grants program is expanding this year to provide financial help to students interested in becoming certified nursing assistants (CNAs).

Candidates must submit completed applications by Friday, June 21. To receive an application or apply, visit ALMH.org/Foundation.

The foundation’s Healthcare Career Educational Grant program provides financial support for higher education for future and current hospital employees. Applicants are expected to make a one-year work commitment to Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital for each award.

“Our educational grant program helps us attract the best talent to Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital and helps our current staff continue to sharpen their expertise,” said Sarah Helm, executive director of the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation. “That helps us fulfill our mission to improve the health of the people and communities we serve. And it’s all possible because of the generous donors to the foundation.”

In addition to certified nursing assistants, other medical professions that qualify for educational funding include registered nurses, certified registered nurse anesthetists, radiological technologists, surgical technologists, medical laboratory technician, medical laboratory scientist, cytotechnologists and histotechnicians.

Applicants must have been accepted into their selected schools, which must be an educational institution or program that is fully accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

The grant can be used to assist with prerequisites prior to acceptance into a selected program. Awards are available to cover up to 100% of upfront costs.

Grants are awarded at the following levels: technical courses and associate’s degrees, up to $10,000; baccalaureate degrees, up to $20,000; and graduate degrees, up to $30,000.
