American Legion Post 263 Splits Saturday Games

A star pitching performance highlighted the senior baseball team from American Legion Post 263 over the weekend, as did several strong individual performances at the plate.

Saturday started with a solid 6-1 win over Ford Iroquois. Cam Glick struck out 12 over five innings while allowing just seven baserunners. Colton Holliday went 2-for-2 with an RBI, a run and a walk. Devyn Snow doubled and had two RBI along with a run scored. Nate Arnold also reached base twice and scored a run.

Post 263 then dropped game two, a 9-3 loss to Danville. Chad Saner, Jr. led the way offensively with a triple, homer, and three RBI. Eddie Saner also had two hits, including a double, and two runs scored. Colton Holliday pitched five innings, allowing six runs (three earned) while striking out five.

Post 263 (3-3) is on the road through next weekend. They play Champaign on Monday at 6 p.m. before playing Macon County at 6 p.m. on Thursday. It’s then a weekend doubleheader on Saturday at Canton. Game times are at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
