Post 263 breaks out bats in “Monday Night Baseball” win

Each starter reached base at least once Monday night, and either contributed an RBI or run scored, as Post 263’s Senior Legion Team slammed Champaign on the road, 16 to 6.

Post 263 (4-3) scored in each of the game’s first six innings, highlighted by a seven-run fifth inning, and led 16 to 1 entering the last of the seventh.

Nate Arnold starred at the plate and on the mound. He struck out 12 over five innings, allowing just one unearned run on three hits and a walk. Arnold also had three hits himself – including two doubles – to go with four runs scored and two RBI.

Colton Holliday tripled and homered from the cleanup spot, along with three RBI and two runs scored. James White and Jordan Jacobs each had three hits, while Keagan Ferguson had three RBI and two runs scored batting leadoff.

Post 263 is back on the road Thursday night as the senior team takes on Macon County at Village Park in Forsyth. First pitch is set for 6 p.m..
