Local athletes participate in the State Special Olympics Summer Games

The State Special Olympics Summer Games took place on June, 7, 8 and 9, 2019 at the campus of Illinois State University in Normal. Athletes that participated in the Spring Games and earned a Gold Medal advanced to the State Games.

There were 16 athletes from the Lincoln Park District Special Olympics that competed at ISU. Nine Gold Medals, three Silver Medals and two Bronze Medals were awarded. In addition, the athletes brought home three 4th place finishes, two 6th place finishes and one 7th place finish.

Here are the athletes and the places they earned in their events:

Jan Finn

2nd place ~ Mini Javelin

Jaime Horn

1st place ~ Mini Javelin
7th place ~ 50M run

Dawn Mason

2nd place ~ 100M run

Ann Rademaker
