Statement on car burglary at Kickapoo Park

LINCOLN
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a
burglary to motor vehicle, which occurred in Kickapoo Park on June
23rd at approximately 11:15am. The victim’s passenger side window
was broken out and a purse was taken from the passenger side
floorboard. Anyone with information regarding this crime should call
the Logan County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at
217- 735-1105.
Sheriff Mark Landers would like to offer some ways to protect
yourself from becoming a victim of this or similar crimes. Vehicle
burglaries are becoming more common and this is not the first
incident at a public park.

1. Keep your vehicle locked at all times.
2. Place all items of value in your trunk or inside your locked glovebox.
3. Do not leave items that have your home address printed on them in plain
sight. Lock those items in your glovebox or trunk also.
4. Lock your garage door opener and house keys in your trunk or glovebox.
5. Delete your home address from any GPS device and also place these items in
your trunk or locked glovebox.
