LDN -- Top Stories

Last week the new sign went up and next week Beltone will host a grand opening for their new business in downtown Lincoln. The new business is located on Broadway Street in downtown Lincoln on the Logan County Courthouse Square, taking up the space that was formerly occupied by Heartland Community College.

Please join us on Wednesday, March 27 at 11:30 a.m. for a Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening of the new hearing aid business. The Lincoln Beltone is owned and operated by Laurie Chiou, who is excited to be setting up shop in Lincoln and anxious to get to know her downtown neighbors.

On Thursday morning at the Farm Bureau Ag Scholarship Breakfast, Aaron Alejandro was the keynote speaker. Alejandro is the Executive Director of the Texas Future Farmers of America Foundation. He shared with the audience his story of success and how he came from a broken home, had no connection to agriculture and as a teen had serious behavioral issues. As a result, he was sent to a four-year school camp for troubled youth. There, his life turned around as he became involved with FFA and he rose through the ranks of the high school level program. He feels his involvement in agriculture as a youth saved him, and also opened the door to a career that he loves.
