Area students to participate in Relay Recess events in May

[April 30, 2019]  LINCOLN - Once again this year, several area elementary schools will be joining in the fight against cancer by hosting Relay Recess events in conjunction with the Logan County Relay for Life projects.

The Logan County Relay for Life steering committee has chosen as this years theme “Cancer…not here, not there, not anywhere,” based of the rhyme and reason of the infamous Doctor Seuss.

Children will be participating in the Relay Recesses on the following dates. The public is welcome to attend any or all of the events. All Cancer survivors or encouraged to attend and to wear their to wear their survivor shirts and medallions.

May 24 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
West Lincoln-Broadwell, Lincoln

May 29 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.  Northwest Elementary, Lincoln

(Additional school dates and times may be added later.)

Logan County Relay for Life will be held from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, June 15th in the Lincoln Center on Lincoln College campus.

Relay teams will set up camp sites with decorations, games, and other activities that reflect the theme by imitating a favorite Dr. Seuss Book.

RFL will have a booth set up at the ALMH farmers market to assist people in registering and purchasing memorial luminarias.
