[May 07, 2019]     The Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Market will launch its fourth season on Saturday, May 11.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 7:45 a.m. with the market bell ringing promptly at 8 a.m.

The producer-only farmers market will be held rain or shine on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 noon through September 28 at the Logan County Fairgrounds in Lincoln, Illinois.

“The Market is an extension of the ALMH mission to improve the health of the people and communities we serve; our aim is to increase consumption of local produce and to provide free health screenings to the community” said Angela Stoltzenburg director of the ALMH Community Health Collaborative.

As the premiere indoor, producer-only market in central Illinois, The ALMH Market has become a wellness destination like no other. The producer-only designation ensures that all items offered at The Market will be homegrown, handmade, and/or vendor-created from locally owned operations within the state of Illinois. Free admission, free parking, free activities for all ages and a LINK card matching program makes the weekly event attractive to everyone. Free health screenings will once again be offered the second and fourth Saturday each month.

Favorite vendors returning this year include Abe’s, Brooks Kountry Honey, Flossie & Delzena’s Coffee Café, Ioerger Family Farms, Knead Bread, Lawrence Family Farm, Mam’s Salves and Sundries, Nuthatch Hill BBQ Co., Odelehr Farms, Samantha Danosky, Southern Smoothies, The Saucier, Thompson Family Farm, Tony Cannoli Company, Toohill Seed and Beef Service and Yours Truly.

The fourth season brings new programming to children including reading and activities for 1-4 year olds and a teen cooking series. And free transportation this year will be funded by the ALMH Foundation through the local cab company. Individuals who need a ride to the Market are invited to call 217-732-TAXI (8294) during market hours and receive a voucher to pay for the ride upon arrival at The Market.
