Use caution when driving near barricaded areas

I am writing out of concern for the safety of our Mount Pulaski city
workers and other utility entities who may be working in areas that
have been temporarily barricaded. These barricades are positioned to
protect workers AND the general public from possible injury or
property damage while they conduct their duties.
I am requesting Mount Pulaski citizens to use another route if you
encounter barricades rather than drive around them. If you live on
the block being barricaded off, you may CAUTIOUSLY drive around them
while paying special attention to the workers and/or equipment that
may be present.

This is a safety issue that according to several witnesses has been neglected
for the sake of convenience. Please practice safe and responsible driving
anytime you are on Illinois roadways as too many Illinois State Police Troopers
and other rescue entities have been injured or lost their lives. We are a small
community with responsible citizens who have a history of looking out for one
another. Let's continue this practice!
