It’s Spring Time with Atlanta Ag 4-H Club!

Pictures by Kim Carlock

At the May meeting 4-H members enjoyed a foods demonstration by Molli Rose Williams. Molli is participating in the Cooking 101 program and offered up a step by step "how to" make pretzels. In the end, everyone was able to enjoy the pretzels prepared by Molli.

Doing foods demonstration is an important part of 4-H. Within the presentation, the members learn good communication skills, how to present a topic, and they also learn about following instructions in a recipe.

After learning about pretzels, members all got down and dirty with some spring planting projects.

Members made planters to present to loved ones for Mother's Day. After that each member made a second planter that was later delivered to a local nursing home to help brighten the day of the residents.

Doing such projects and visiting the local nursing home helps members to understand the importance of be kind, compassionate, and caring toward all. It grows their character and makes them better people.

Each nursing home planter was delivered with a hand written note from the 4-h members.
