[October 31, 2019]   LINCOLN - It's almost Christmas Season in downtown Lincoln! To kick off the holidays we are creating a winter wonderland on the courthouse lawn with decorated Christmas trees.

You can join in on the Christmas cheer by sponsoring a tree and decorating anyway you would like.

Sponsorship of a tree can be in memory of a loved one or just spreading seasons greetings. It is $50.00 to sponsor a tree. The $50.00 pays for the 6ft tree and signage in front of your sponsored tree. This is not a fundraiser or profitable event. Checks are made payable to Lincoln Initiative Fund. The Lincoln Initiative Fund was created by the Logan County Tourism Bureau, a non-profit, to handle funds that are used on projects that better Lincoln.

If you would like to sponsor a tree, please pick up a form at Small Town Creations (115 S Kickapoo St) in downtown Lincoln. We encourage you to complete the form and return it to Small Town Creations or Logan County Tourism Bureau (101 N Chicago St) no later than November 15th to ensure your sign is in place to represent your tree for our tree lighting ceremony on November 29th. Submit early as we only have 40 trees available this year. We will continue to accept sponsors until all 40 trees are paid for.

We ask that no more than 2 sets of lights be placed on your tree.

Not allowed on the tree:

motorized ornaments,
tinsel (icicles),
breakable ornaments,
candy canes or anything perishable.

(These items will be removed by the committee)

[to top of second column]

We ask for your cooperation regarding these requirements to continue this tradition.

All decorations must be removed by January 1st. If they have not been removed by that date, they will be removed and destroyed.

Please see application for specific decorating instructions and times.
