Funding provided by
generous employers, employees, organizations and individuals during
this time will be distributed in 2020 to partner agencies that
provide services right here in Logan County. The money raised in
Logan County STAYS in Logan County. Money also comes into Logan
County from other United Way Campaigns thanks to affiliation with
the national organization.
As a result of last year’s
campaign, $87,000 will have been distributed by the end of the year
to 14 different non-profit agencies allowing Logan County residents
access to their services. For 2020, the United Way has partnered
with 15 non-profit agencies to provide a portion of the funding
needed to continue to provide services in our community. Those
agencies and programs are: The American Red Cross, Boy Scouts,
Center for Youth and Family Services, Christian Child Care,
Community Action of Central Illinois Meals on Wheels and CAPCIL
Transit Program, Girls On The Run, Girl Scouts, Junior Achievement
of Central Illinois, Lincoln Area YMCA, Lincoln Pastoral Counseling
Services, Living Alternatives Pregnancy Resource Center, Lincoln
Center for Developmental Rehabilitation, The Oasis/Senior Citizens
of Logan County and The Salvation Army.

Why should community members get
involved? When asked why she has gotten involved in the leadership
of the United Way of Logan County, board member Erin Burns explains,
“I think it’s so important to support
organizations that in turn support OUR local community. Especially
in smaller towns and counties, we really need to look out for one
another. The United Way of Logan County is a great organization to
invest in to ensure that your gifts are going to help those in need
in our very own community.”
The campaign to raise money for
