Heitzig, an eighth grader, finished in 2nd
place with a personal record time of 11:49.3. Last year Heitzig
also finished in 2nd place as a seventh grader. Her time in 2018
was 11:59.3.
Short, a seventh grader, did not medal but finished with a time
of 14.33.2
It’s worth mentioning that 228 runners participated in the state
event. For Heitzig to finish in 2nd place in back-to-back state
runs is an amazing feat!
Without a doubt these girls have an incredible Cross-Country
career ahead of them.
