LDN -- Top Stories

The Land of Lincoln Honor Flight hosted its last trip of 2019 to Washington D.C. for local veterans on October 30th. On this final trip of the year, there was a large number of veterans from Logan county who had the opportunity to visit the nation's capital and the many military and war monuments.

When veterans returned home to Springfield airport later that night, they were greeted by a large number of people from Logan County. Among those meeting the veterans at the airport were students from the Land of Lincoln CEO and the Hartsburg-Emden basketball team as well as several other Lincoln students and families and Logan County Circuit Judge Jonathan Wright.

On Friday, the students of West Lincoln-Broadwell school hosted some very special guests at an all-school assembly. The day was dedicated to our local veterans, with many former servicemen and women of all branches of service on hand to enjoy the special program. Among the many features of the day was a performance by the WLB Poms team who performed to patriotic music. They ended their program by using their poms to spell out U.S.A.
