Lincoln Police Department introduces "Just Need to Know" project
FREE no questions asked drug testing kits for concerned parents

[November 18, 2019]   We have some awesome parents and guardians in our community that are engaged with their children and know their activities. We trust that our children will do the right thing, but sometimes due to peer pressure or just a bad decision a child could be headed to a path of addiction.

Addiction leads to lies and issues that no parent wants, including the death of a child. Those awesome parents are the ones that step up, have productive
conversations, ask the hard questions, and try to keep their children on the right path.

An awesome parent is one who understands that it’s not “just weed” or it’s not “just vaping”. Those gateway drugs can lead to something much more serious if an intervention is not made NOW.

If you are asking the hard questions and feel you are not getting the answers you feel you should be, from the kids you know better than anyone else, the Lincoln Police Department is here to help support you in getting those answers.

No questions asked! No law enforcement involvement! No school involvement! Just you and your child!

With the dramatic rise in teen usage of drugs and vaping, the Lincoln Police Department wants to help.

We are now offering free drug and nicotine test kits, including treatment options, to any parent who just wants to know. We all want to trust that our teens are making good decisions, but with added peer pressure and mixed messages through social media, sometimes you just need to know so you can get the help needed before it is too late.

Kits are available, free of charge, and can be picked up at the Lincoln Police Department and Lincoln Community High School for your convenience.

Just ask for the “Free Kit” and you will receive a bag that contains the test kits and related information.
