The Lincoln College Men’s Cross Country team
competed at the H.W. Wright Classic hosted by Millikin
University over the weekend. The Lynx placed 6th overall at the
twelve-team which was run at Scovill Golf Course in Decatur,
Illinois.
Lincoln’s top finisher in the 8K event was Dakota Shepler
(Macomb) who placed 43rd overall with a finishing time of 31:29.
Other finishers for LC included Ed Lopez (58th), Evan Myers
(61st), Andy Hohn (63rd) and Blake Quandt (64th).
Lincoln Head Cross Country Coach Brian Herron was satisfied with
the result. “I was pleased at how well we battled tonight,” said
Herron. “This was easily one of the toughest courses we have
ever ran on and our guys showed a lot of heart. This meet will
help us prepare for the heart of our schedule and other tough
meets to come.”
The Lynx will have about two weeks to prepare for their next
event which will be the Illinois College Invite in Jacksonville,
Illinois on October 12th.
