[October 05, 2019]  The Lincoln Football Team was on the road for week six at Mahomet-Seymour Friday night and the Railsplitters came away with the 13-6 win.

Lincoln took a 6-0 lead in the second quarter on a 34-yard run by Alex Bogdanic with 8:27 on the clock. Mahomet-Seymour tied the game 6-6 in the fourth quarter.

With 3:59 remaining in the game, quarterback Dreyden Pozsgai gave Lincoln the lead for good. It was Pozsgai on the quarterback sneak from the 1-yard line and Lincoln was up 12-6. The kick was good by Bogdanic and Lincoln's lead was 13-6.

The Lincoln defense shut down the Bulldogs in the remaining minutes, notably an interception by Jayden Graham slammed the door on Mahomet-Seymour's chances.

Lincoln picks up a huge 13-6 Apollo Conference win away from home. The Railers improve to 2-4 overall and 1-3 in the conference.

After the game, Coach Matt Silkowski was very proud of the way his athletes played the game and overcame adversity to get the win.

"We overcame a lot of injuries this week," said Silkowski. "I am so very proud of these kids. They played extremely hard. Offensively we started out really well but hurt ourselves with some penalties. We made some big plays when we had to. I am really happy with how we managed the clock in the fourth quarter, particularly on the last touchdown drive.

"Defensively we bent but didn't break.

"We made some huge plays when we really needed them. We forced turnovers.

"Jayden Graham had two interceptions. Alex Bogdanic ran extremely well. He ran for 101 yards and it was a tough 101 as well.

Dreyden Pozsgai is the new school record holder for career pass attempts."

Pozsgai only needs two more completions to become the career record holder for pass completions.

Congrations, Dreyden!

Lincoln will host Mount Zion next Friday night at Handlin Field.
