LINCOLN, IL — The Lincoln College Men’s Soccer team celebrated the Labor Day weekend by playing three matches in three days. LC dropped their first contest to Lyon College (AR) 3-0, but rebounded to defeat Lincoln Christian University 12-0 and Point Park University (PA) 3-2.

LC traveled to Canton, Missouri on Friday to compete in the first round of play in the Culver-Stockton College Invitational Tournament. Lincoln was unable to break through for a goal in their match-up with Lyon College despite taking 12 shots in total during the match.

On Saturday, the Lynx played a home match against Lincoln Christian University and the LC offense was able to find the back of the net early and often as eight different players recorded at least one goal. Goalie Pierson Fleming (Springfield) was perfect in the net to preserve the shut-out victory.

Lincoln finished up their weekend of play on Sunday by returning to play in the CSC event where the Lynx were able to pull off a 3-2 win over Point Park University.
