LINCOLN – As the school year begins, Lincoln College’s Dr. G. Dennis
Campbell Creekside Outdoor Center for Environmental Education will
be hosting a summer camp out for all local families.
The camp out will take place Saturday, September 7- Sunday,
September 8, 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. at the Creekside location,
weather permitting.
Located just north of Lincoln, families will enjoy nature crafts,
outdoor activities, daylight tours of the forests and restored
prairies, an evening camp meal, and star gazing (telescopes
provided).
Lincoln College faculty, staff, and Conservation Biology students,
as well as volunteers from the community, will be present to assist
with scheduled activities.
A free afternoon snack, evening meal, and small breakfast will be
provided to guests, along with s’mores around the counsel ring/fire
pit. Campers are permitted to supplement their meals with personal
food and drinks. A single fire pit and a charcoal grill are also
available for families to share (wood and charcoal are provided by
Creekside).

Families are required to bring their own tents and camping gear. All children
must be accompanied throughout the camp out by at least one parent or guardian.
The event has a maximum capacity of 25 tents, so all interested persons are
encouraged to call Creekside in advance to reserve a tent place. No trailers
will be permitted on the grounds.
Creekside is approximately 4 miles due north of Lincoln, off of County Rd 2000N
halfway between County Road 1100E and 1215th Ave (Google map address is 1234
