			 [September 05, 2019]
American Red Cross Central and Southern Illinois has more than 1500
active volunteers who assist us in achieving the Red Cross mission
in all kinds of ways locally, regionally, nationally, and even
			internationally every single day.
Hurricane Dorian is a stark reminder of the unpredictability of
disasters that strike people from all walks of life in many
different situations. You can help the Red Cross achieve it’s
mission by becoming a volunteer either on-location or right here at
home. In fact, about two dozen trained volunteers and counting from
our region are involved in Hurricane Dorian recovery - at staging
areas ready to help in the relief effort. A total of 1600 trained
volunteers from across the country are involved so far.

We expect another busy disaster season, overall, and when you join
us in relief and recovery efforts, you’re also eligible for many
free Red Cross classes from First Aid to CPR.

We invite you to attend a volunteer open house in Peoria to learn
about becoming a Red Cross volunteer and why your willingness to
			help matters.

Join us one of these days:

 Thursday, September 12th - 10a-12p
 Thursday, October 17th – 4-6p
 Wednesday, November 20th – 10a-12p
