The Lincoln Kiwanis Club had the desire to help a local student
attend a local college, so two years ago they hosted their first
annual golf outing to raise funds to support a scholarship.
Following an application and committee selection process, Alexis
Davis from Lincoln was selected to receive a $1500 scholarship.
Alexis Davis is a 2019 graduate of Lincoln Community High School.
While attending LCHS, she was an honor roll student athlete who
spent time working as a camp advisor at the YMCA and volunteering at
her church. She is now attending Lincoln College to complete her
Associates Degree. Her future plans include transferring to Southern
Illinois University in Edwardsville for a degree in Elementary
			Education.

The Lincoln Kiwanis Club held their 2nd Annual Golf Outing on May
18, 2019 at Lincoln Elks Country Club. Participants enjoyed great
weather, a round of golf, lunch by Flossie’s & Delzenas, margaritas
providing by Lincoln Banquet Center, drinks and giveaways provided
by United Community Bank. Participants also enjoyed a buffet style
dinner by TKs Grill and award ceremony following the outing.
Proceeds from each golf outing will provide over $2,000 in
scholarships to local colleges for local students.

The remaining proceeds will help continue to support the club’s
passions including LJHS Builders Club, LCHS Career & Technical
Program, and Logan County 4-H Club. Kiwanis empowers communities to
improve the world by making lasting impressions in the lives of
			children.
