Lincolnite Mario Canon to hit national television's Empire September 24th
FREE Special viewing at Lincoln Family Theater

[September 23, 2019]   Business owner, recording artist, involved citizen and now adding to his list of accomplishment, Mario Canon, owner of Anytime Fitness, can top the list with a recurring role on syndicated, national television.

Canon will have a role in the opening episode of season six of Empire, the musical drama television series on Fox. The episode scheduled to air on September 24th will also feature a song performed by Canon. In the past he has worked behind the scenes on Fox Empire as a stand in for Trai Byers.

Lincoln Family Theatre & Community Center will be hosting a viewing of the episode, which starts at 8 pm in their largest house- seating 180 people. Admission is free and Mario will be on hand to greet people and watch along with everyone. An autographed poster will also be raffled off with the proceeds being donated to a local charity.
 

Canon, originally from Springfield, IL, has called Lincoln home for the last six years. He owns multiple business ventures, including his own music and clothing label, Starpower the Elites, as well as owning and operating Anytime Fitness for the past two years.

Canon combined his stage experience and his radio experience to take his career to the next level of acting six years ago. Up until then he had honed his presence with live hip hop shows, male pageants, guest spots on Springfield, IL radio station, 103.7 WDBR, along with top radio platforms in St. Louis and Decatur.

Since then he has landed five independent roles on small films, two of which have appeared at the Music Theater Box in Chicago, six National Television small featured roles and a handful of commercials. This past summer Canon was also a featured artist at the local Family Fun Day- an experience he feels is as equally important to his career- being able to mentor and give back to the young people of his community.
