Atlanta Quilt Corner held the last quilt raffle drawing, for 2019, at the Atlanta Fall Festival, Atlanta Park. Robert Baker of Hannibal, Illinois won the beautiful ‘Rail Fence’ patterned quilt.

The Atlanta Quilt Corner thanks everyone that purchased a raffle ticket. This year’s raffles netted $800.00 for the Atlanta Memorial House maintenance projects. Thank You, Atlanta Park District for allowing the Atlanta Quilt Corner to use the basement of the Memorial House for weekly meetings held: Wednesday 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. and Saturday 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend any of the meetings.

The quilt group makes lap/throw size quilts for central Illinois charities: Wee Care Tree sponsored by Atlanta National Bank; Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Emergency Room; Pregnancy Resource Center, Lincoln, IL; Children’s Cancer Center, OSF Hospital, Peoria; and other Logan County charities.

Seven women make up the Atlanta Quilt Corner. Their continuous dedication to the charities produces approximately 250 quilts a year. Anyone that can tie a knot can help make quilts. Join these quilters for any or all of the meetings for a relaxed time visiting while working on the quilts.

Atlanta Quilt Corner plans to make 4 military themed quilts for the 2020 raffles. Each quilt will be dedicated to one branch of the armed forces. Watch for the quilts to be on display at The Dixie Truck Stop, in McLean, Illinois, starting April 2020.
