Richard at Steenbergen Cemetery in Mount Pulaski, at
a later date where full military rites will be
accorded.

Obituary
Richard Swagert, 75, of Mount Pulaski
passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at The
Christian Village in Lincoln.
Richard was born on February 5, 1945 in Detroit, MI
the son of Alfred and Mary (Grey) Swagert. He
married Trudy Pherson Moore. She survives in Mount
Pulaski.
Richard is also survived by his sons, Jason (Marna)
Swagert of Apex, NC; Tony (Jamie) Moore of
Bloomington, and Trevor Moore of Mount Pulaski; his
grandchildren, Seairah, Savanah, Allison, (whom he
shared a birthday with), Ryan, Adam, Emersyn, and
Ethan.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and
his brother, Gene.

Richard worked for The Schwan Food
Company for 23 years as a route salesman and
manager; he also worked for Snyder Snacks. Richard
proudly served in the US Navy from 1963-1967. He was
a member of the Mount Pulaski American Legion Post
#447. Richard loved woodworking and fishing; he was
a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan. Above all else, he
loved his family especially his grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made in Richard’s name to
The Parkinson’s Foundation.
