“Is there any new business to come before us at this time?” Those
are the words that start ten minutes of making motions, discussions,
and voting in a mock meeting.
Six Olympia FFA members competed at the Section 9 Parliamentary
Procedure Career Development Event (CDE) on Wednesday, March 11th at
Tri-Valley High School.
The Varsity team members were Kailey Little, Josie Litwiller, Kari
Simpson, Tyler Miller, Kaylin Simpson, and team chairperson Cavit
Schempp.
Parliamentary procedure requires many practices for members to learn
basic procedure, additional motions, and the many other details that
are required to run an efficient meeting. Participants are judged on
their ability to make and discuss motions and answer questions about
proper parliamentary procedure.
