This coming Sunday afternoon 17 lovely young ladies will vie for three separate crowns at a make-shift, make-do, Logan County Queen Pageant.

The Logan County Fair, which should have wrapped up on Sunday, was canceled due to coronavirus. However, finding new royalty to represent Logan County was still an important part of the annual fair will not go to the wayside.

Logan County Fair Queen Pageant Director Bethany Rademaker and her team of volunteers put together a plan that would permit the young ladies to compete on stage with a limited attendance audience and a great deal of caution to protect the health and safety of the girls and other participants.

The three pageant events will be spread out across the afternoon with the Little Miss competition at 1 p.m., Junior Miss at 3 p.m., and Miss Logan County Fair Queen at 6 p.m.

This year the pageants will take place on the Lincoln Stage. Doors will be open to permit airflow and hand sanitizer will also be available to guests as they arrive and depart.

Each contestant was permitted to purchase up to six tickets for family and close friends. No other guests will be permitted in the audience. Guests are to come in and take their seat, which will be designated and marked ahead of time, and are encouraged not to interact with others. There are also recommendations that there be no gathering before or after the events, and use of public restrooms is discouraged.

After each competition the pageant committee will disinfect all seats before the next round and re-mark the seating for guests.
