[August 20, 2020]  MOUNT PULASKI - George E. Blue, 73, of Mount Pulaski passed away peacefully at his home on August 9, 2020.

Visitation:  4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday August 13, 2020 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski

Service:  Graveside services for George will be 10:00 a.m. Friday August 14, 2020 at Steenbergen Cemetery in Mount Pulaski,

Obituary

George E. Blue, 73, of Mount Pulaski passed away peacefully at his home on August 9, 2020.

George was born on April 12, 1947 in Decatur, to George R. and Blanche (Dodwell) Blue. He served in the United States Navy from 1966-1969. On June 12, 1971, he married Linda Rose Fournier. She survives him.

Also surviving are his children Terry (Raquel) Blue of Collierville, TN, and Casie Wyler of Mount Pulaski, two sisters, Nicki (Dave) Yemm of Springfield and Linda K (Rich) Osborn of Lincoln, and three grandchildren Sabrina, Brooke and Caden.

George was the owner and operator of George’s Foods in Mount Pulaski, branch manager for ABF Freight, a bus driver for the Mount Pulaski School District and a part time employee at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home. George was also a Mason from the Mount Pulaski Masonic Lodge, Shriners, and Mt Pulaski American Legion Post # 447. George was also a lifelong St. Louis Cardinal and Duke Basketball fan.

Graveside services for George will be 10:00 a.m. Friday August 14, 2020 at Steenbergen Cemetery in Mount Pulaski, with Casey McCormick officiating, where social distancing will be required. The Mount Pulaski American Legion Post #447 will conduct full military rites.

Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday August 13, 2020 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, where face mask and social distancing regulations will be required.

Memorials may be made in George’s name to the family for the education fund of his three grandchildren.
