[August 31, 2020]    This week our Eye Spy sleuths were at it again. The pictures and clues in last week’s Lincoln Daily News highlighted three popular attractions in the small community of Elkhart.

Martha Simmons was the first to figure it out with the Wednesday clue being the clincher. It was a slice of the mural that hangs on the exterior wall on the west end store front of Horsefeathers, Wild Hare Café, and Little Foxes. She noted that while the statue of the doughboy had been cut off, she recognized the base.

Simmons said, she and Ken Gill along with dog Auggie hopped in the car and went to see if she was correct. Sure enough she was. This time, Ken took the photo that includes the mural with Martha and Auggie standing in front.

Bob Fulk also figured it out on the second day. He reads the clues for each day along with observing the photo clue. He commented that we had him walking in circles. Indeed that is true because the clue told readers to park on the west walk to the east, cross to the north, and walk back to the west. The three sites that LDN chose are all located on Elkhart’s main street through town. This makes for a nice short walk to take in all three. However, remember, there are numerous points of interest in town, so if you are interested in going now, be sure to check out the map across the street from the Shirley Temple roadside attraction.

Bob and Tammy Elam also hopped in the car and went to see if they were correct. Tammy took the shot of Bob in front of Horsefeathers.

Thanks to our readers who are following this game on Facebook and in Lincoln Daily News. You can’t hide from us, we know you are checking it out, so why not jump on the band wagon and play along with Bob and Martha.

Now if you are paying attention, here is something to help you ahead of time with the week six game. For about 14,000 of you, we’ll be keeping you a little closer to home this week.
