[August 29, 2020]  LINCOLN - Ricky A. Boward, 62, passed away at 8:09 p.m. on August 22, 2020 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Service:  Private family graveside services will be held. A celebration of life for Ricky will be held at a later date.

Ricky A. Boward, 62, passed away at 8:09 p.m. on August 22, 2020 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Ricky was born on October 24, 1957 in Lincoln, son of Albert and Marilyn (Combs) Boward. He married Shari Davis on January 5, 1996 in Lincoln. She survives him.

Also surviving Ricky are his children: Nicholas Boward of Lincoln and Ryan (Dana Spiesz) Davis of Pekin; grandchildren: Rylan and Jalen; siblings: Michael (Elizabeth) Cheek of Topeka, Mark (Yvonne) Cheek of Lincoln, Chris (John) Cheek-Agee of Lincoln and Randy Boward of Fort Meyers, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ricky was a member of The United Methodist Church of Middletown. He was a member of the Springfield Carpenters Union # 270. He was a die-hard St. Louis Cardinals fan. Enjoyed fishing, camping and golfing with his son, as well as golf cart rides with his pets. Ricky never met a stranger and above all else he loved spending time with his family and never missed a family get together. Ricky chose to be a organ donor and with the help of Gift of Hope others will live on.

Private family graveside services will be held. A celebration of life for Ricky will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made in Ricky’s name to the Humane Society of Logan County.

Services are entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
