Obituary
Brycen Hicks, 23, of Lincoln passed
away on Sunday, December 13, 2020, at his home.
Funeral Services for Brycen will be held on Thursday
evening, December 17, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. at the
Lincoln Christian Church with Mr. Tim Searby
officiating.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00
p.m. on Thursday at the church.
CDC Guidelines regarding facemasks and social
distancing must be followed.
Brycen Hicks was born on November 24, 1997, in
Springfield, the son of Timothy D. and Kristina Bell
Hicks.
He is survived by his parents; fiancée: Madi Guy;
one sister: Haley Hicks; maternal grandparents:
Sharon and Kenny Bell; paternal grandmother: Janet
M. Hicks; and maternal great-grandfather: Ernie
Purlee. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles
and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal
grandfather: Dennis Hicks.
Brycen graduated from Lincoln
Community High School in 2016, Heartland Community
College in 2018, and then attended Illinois State
University. He was employed as a crane operator for
TCR Systems LLC in Decatur. |
Brycen was a member of Future Farmers
of America in High School, where he also played
basketball and baseball. He was an avid racer,
enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and playing bags with
his friends. Brycen never met a stranger. His smile
and laugh were infectious and he always brightened
any room he walked into. He was kind, generous, and
would lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
Following in his grandfather’s footsteps, his motto
became “Life is Good.”
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's
choice.
The family would like to extend thanks to all that
have reached out with kind words and gestures during
this difficult time.
