As Christmas day draws ever closer, we pause to consider the Nativity's symbolism and the remarkable story that unfolds around it: the miraculous birth, the life of, death of, and the resurrection of our Savior.

Times are challenging, and some of our material happiness may be stifled this year by the coronavirus. But consider this. Mary and Joseph were alone with no grandparents to gush over their newborn child. There was no feast upon a table set just for them. There was no warm fireplace for them to sit in front of with family and friends. Yet, the joy they felt could not be stifled. They knew they were blessed.

This year especially, let us pause to consider their journey, their suffering and their joy. Let us strive to find our joy in the little things and to count our blessings for what we have been given from above.
