Heartland Hawks athletics teams have achieved a new high point in
academic performance.
With a cumulative GPA of 3.25 for the Fall 2020 semester, Heartland
Community College student athletes have posted the highest
single-semester marks in the College’s athletics program history.
The Women’s Cross Country (GPA 3.55) and Women’s Soccer (GPA 3.54)
teams cumulatively gained the highest team marks out of all of
Heartland’s eight athletics programs.
“I am very proud of our student athletes and coaches,” said Ryan
Knox, Director of Athletics. “It took a special dedication this
semester to not only remain engaged, but to excel. This academic
triumph is a victory for everyone at Heartland. The professors made
this possible by displaying a level of dedication and caring far
above what was expected. I sincerely thank them and the student
athletes for prioritizing academic progress.”
