[December 31, 2020]
Illinois American Water has lifted conservation measures requested
of Lincoln District customers beginning Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020.
Water use is no longer restricted.
During the conservation order, Illinois American Water completed
critical electrical repairs at the Lincoln District’s South Water
Treatment Plant. In addition, data analysis was conducted to confirm
operational reliability. This analysis was in addition to the 24/7
monitoring of water treatment plants across Illinois American
Water’s footprint.
Eric Larson, senior operations manager for Illinois American Water’s
Western Division commended his team for their “quick action and
detailed approach.” He said, “There is always a sense of urgency
when critical repairs need to be made. Being a part of the Illinois
American Water family gives us access to materials and resources not
only locally but regionally. This allowed us to expedite repairs and
keep water service flowing to our customers.”

Larson also thanked customers for the role they played in completing the
critical work. He said, “Our customers adhered to the temporary water use
restrictions, and by doing so, supported our team in the field. We really
appreciate their efforts and are proud to be a part of the community.”
While customers are no longer required to take conservation measures, they are
reminded to use water wisely. Wise water use tips cans be found at
