Lincoln College Set to Host True Black History Museum
Traveling Museum Opens February 5
 

[January 31, 2020]    Lincoln College will be hosting the True Black History Museum, an extraordinary collection of rare and authentic artifacts, dating from the late 1700's to the 21st century February 5.

The Museum states, “The collection was established to preserve the history of black people and to educate others of the many great contributions that black people have made to mankind. The collection takes you on a journey through the use of these artifacts through the African American experience.”

Artifacts from the collection range from the many great civilizations in Africa, through the Mid-Atlantic Slave Trade, slavery, the Civil War, reconstruction, Jim Crow, the Civil Rights / Black Power movement, through the modern day. The museum celebrates and highlights contributions of African Americans in the arts, sciences, sports, entertainment, education, and politics.

The True Black History Museum has been viewed by over 50,000 people throughout the United States.

Community members are welcome to experience the exhibit which will be on display Wednesday, February 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Meyer-Evans Student Center on the Lincoln College campus in Lincoln.

The exhibit is being sponsored by the Lynx Activities Board (LAB) in honor of Black History Month.
