Larry Kanfer Art Exhibit opens in Atlanta

[February 10, 2020]    The Atlanta Library will host a special exhibit of rural photography by Champaign-based artist, Larry Kanfer from Monday, February 10 thru Friday, February 28. The exhibit will be displayed in the Union Hall Building, 114 SW Arch Street, in downtown Atlanta. Exhibit hours are Wednesdays-Sunday from 10am-2:00pm. Visitors should enter through the Palms Grill Café.

Photographic artist Larry Kanfer challenges himself to find the subtle beauty in the everyday. The Associated Press praised his work, saying, “Kanfer’s gift is that he can endow the ordinary landscape… with an almost magical sense of beauty.” After receiving his degree in architecture from the University of Illinois in 1979, he opened his first photography gallery and studio in Champaign, IL. Most well known for his Prairiescapes®, he has brought acclaim to the Midwest through award-winning calendars & original artwork that captures the beauty of the region.

This special exhibit will conclude with Larry Kanfer presenting a program on Friday, February 21, as part of the Atlanta Library Dinner Program season. Dinner Programs are held at the Palms Grill Café/Union Hall Building. Dinner begins at 5:30 pm, with the evening’s program starting at 7:00pm.

Reservations are required and limited to approximately 50 people. The Palms Grill Café features a set of dinner specials, including homemade desserts for each program.
