Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois (CAPCIL) has taken the #BeCounted Pledge partnering with the Illinois Department of Human Services and the United States Census to assist in educating, promoting and assisting persons in completion of the 2020 Census Survey.

Once every ten years, the United States counts everyone who lives in the country from newborn babies to the oldest among us. The 2020 Census makes history for being the first time the survey can be completed online. Invitations to respond will be sent to every address in America starting March 12th and will include a unique Census ID to ensure each household is counted.

The 2020 Census influences community funding and congressional representation for the next decade. Information collected will determine the allocation of more than $675 billion in federal funds for states and communities. The appropriate funding allocation is vital to community organizations, educational institutions, housing, public works, medical facilities, Medicare and other vital resources.

“As a non-profit organization we know the importance of funding, as we heavily rely on federal and state funds. This is why CAPCIL is committed, as a trusted source in our community, to help educate residents and offer them secure computer and internet access for survey completion. We are here to help.” Said Director of Agency Development, Breann Titus.

For more information on the 2020 Census, you can visit the US Census website at www.2020census.gov. You can also call CAPCIL at 217-732-2159 with questions or to schedule a time to complete your survey at one of their office locations.
