[February 17, 2020]    The West Lincoln Broadwell Wolverines lost 53-51 to Oglesby Holy Family on Saturday in the first round of the 2020 Eighth Grade Class 1A State Tournament at Macon Meridian High School.

West Lincoln Broadwell had a 21-16 lead at the half. The Wolverines led 35-27 at the end of the third quarter. Oglesby Holy Family would outscore the Wolverines 26-16 in the fourth quarter and that led to the devastating loss for West Lincoln Broadwell.

According to WLB Coach Curtis Conrady, “Alex Galindo of Oglesby Holy Family made a desperation 30-foot three-pointer to beat WLB with .07 seconds on the clock.”

Oglesby Holy Family made four three-pointers in the final quarter and their leading scorer, Josh Senica, was 4-for-4 from the free throw line on ‘and ones,’ so it was an incredible comeback by the winning team.

And, a tough loss for the Wolverines, who had a great season winning the Carroll Catholic Tournament, the Logan County Conference Tournament, as well as Regionals and Sectionals this year.

Trey Schilling led all scorers with 20 points on Saturday. Landon Heinzel tossed in 13 points for WLB.

The Wolverines end the season with a 24-4 record.

Congratulations to the Wolverines on a great season!
