Athletic Director, Mark Perdue has announced the hiring of Hannah Marshall as the new women’s head volleyball coach. Marshall is a native of St. Louis, MO where she made the short drive to Fulton, MO to attend Westminster College. She graduated in 2018 with a degree in exercise science, and is currently studying in the Masters of Athletic Training program at Trinity International University.

She played all four years for the Blue Jays and in 2015 she led the team in kills per set (3.4) and aces (81) as she was named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year during her sophomore season.

“Hannah knows what it takes to be a successful student athlete from her playing days at Westminster, as she has proven herself both on and off the court,” says Perdue when asked about Marshall’s perspective of preparing these young athletes for life during their collegiate years.

Marshall has spent the last two seasons with TIU’s volleyball team as the graduate assistant. During her first season as a graduate assistant in 2018, Marshall helped coach TIU to a 24-18 record, including a 12-6 mark in CCAC play. The 2018 season also included the Trojans posting their first season of 20 or more wins since 2010, reaching the semifinal round of the CCAC Tournament, and qualifying for the NCCAA Tournament.

Marshall plans to use her experience to continue building on Lincoln’s program after their trip to the national tournament last year. “I have a good idea of what it takes to be successful in the CCAC as Lincoln makes the transition. For the last two years, serving as the GA for TIU I have noticed that the conference is very well rounded with good competition that will provide the opportunity for the Lincoln volleyball program to grow.”

Perdue added, “We are excited to add Hannah to the Lynx family, as she brings positive cultural influence to our department and to the volleyball program.”

Marshall has big goals for the direction of the program and is already in the works with what she can bring to the table. “Not only do I plan on bringing my knowledge and enthusiasm about the game to ta talented group of young ladies, but I am also looking forward to assisting in developing them as well-rounded individuals who leave Lincoln as leaders in their respective fields.”

Welcome, Hannah! Go Lynx!
