CAPCIL’s mission is strong and focused on helping persons of low
income develop and escape of the gripes of poverty while making a
positive impact in communities within their service area. However,
the employees are only a small part of that. The people who
volunteer their time to help deliver meals, stock the food pantry,
assist in the classroom or help maintain our facilities are an
integral part of their success.
In the last two years, volunteers have donated over 120,000 hours
with a financial impact of over $400,000. CAPCIL’s volunteer program
gives persons an opportunity to learn new skills, stay active, earn
food for their household while boosting their personal development.
In return, the agency can focus their resources on program
development, compliance, and effective program management.
Volunteers make the agency stronger and more efficient.
CAPCIL is thankful for the business/organizational partners and
community members who provide funding, make donations and hold
collections in their honor.

The agency receives a large portion of funding through Federal and State grants
however, some of the funding restrictions can create gaps in services.
Private unrestricted donations allow them to fill the gap, continue services
when funding is delayed and help those in crisis situations. Private
unrestricted donations, big or small, are vital and provides the agency
additional financial stability.
“Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois is more financially sound than
ever. Unrestricted dollars are a critical part of that financial well-being, and
our team has worked very hard to ensure a stable and vibrant future.”, said
Executive Director, Alison Rumler-Gomez.
