Obituary

Janice Melbourne, 70, passed away at 9:41 a.m. on Saturday January 18, 2020 at her home.

Janice was born on November 7, 1949 in Bloomington, daughter of John and Gladys (Sloan) Aper. She was married to David Leaser for 26 years and then she married Kenneth Melbourne on February 17, 2002 in Lincoln. He survives her.

Also surviving are her sons: John (Lisa) Leaser of Pawnee and Jason Leaser of Lincoln, five grandchildren, twelve step grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter-in-law: Dana Leaser.

Janice worked as the customer Service Manager at Walmart for years.

She had a heart of gold for children, whether it was her own or not. She would have a huge Easter Egg Hunt at her home for the kids that she would go all out for, as well as Halloween she would have the best treats and candies for the kids. She will be dearly missed.

A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 Noon Monday January 27, 2020 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln with Ron Otto officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service (10:00 a.m.-12:00 Noon).

Memorials may be made in Janice’s name to the Disabled American Veterans.

A private family burial will take place at a later date.
