[January 29, 2020]  WENTZVILLE MO - Dorothy Emmaline (Holmes) Palmer, formerly of Mount Pulaski passed away at 11:57 a.m. on January 27, 2020 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Visitation:  10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday January 31, 2020 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski

Service:  11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home

Obituary

Dorothy Emmaline (Holmes) Palmer, formerly of Mount Pulaski passed away at 11:57 a.m. on January 27, 2020 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Dorothy was born on May 2, 1938 in Mount Pulaski daughter of Benjamin and Selma (Grathwohl) Holmes. She married Richard Dean Palmer on May 25, 1957. He survives her.

Also surviving are her children: Jody (Vidal) Davila, Vicky (Michael) Vogt, and Eric ( Dhee-Ghee) Palmer; her grandchildren: Rachel and Gabriel Davila, and Hunter Palmer; along with many friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings: Charles “Chick” Holmes, Mary Holmes Thompson, Kenneth Holmes, and Robert Holmes, one daughter: DeAnn Lynette, and one grandchild: Sierra Davila.

Dorothy graduated from Mount Pulaski High School in 1956. Dorothy and Richard have lived in Illinois, Oregon, Arizona, and most recently Missouri. She enjoyed researching family genealogy and traveling the world with Richard. Together they have visited over 65 countries in their 62 years of marriage.

Dorothy loved being a mother, grandmother, and wife to her loving husband. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wentzville, MO.

She published the William Holmes and Mary Turner family Chronicle (Seventh Edition) for the enjoyment and legacy of the Turner-Holmes family.

Services for Dorothy will be 11:00 a.m. Friday January 31, 2020 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski with Rev. Jonathan Buescher officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service also at the funeral home. Burial at Mount Pulaski Cemetery will follow the service.

Memorials may be made in Dorothy’s name to the Logan County Historical Society, American Lung Association, or Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
