Two Heartland students have been awarded by the Association for
Women in Communications (AWC) for excellence in the field of
communications.
Breanne Evans and Quinnie Calvert were recognized as winners in the
esteemed 2020 Clarion Awards competition.
Evans and Calvert are both graphic design student workers in the
Marketing and Public Information Department at Heartland Community
College. Evans, a Normal local, graduated Heartland in 2019 and
transferred to Illinois State University. Calvert, a Clinton local,
graduated Heartland in the Spring of 2020.
The students were awarded a Clarion for their project, “Art at
Heartland Community College,” in the Promotional Video Production
category. The video promotes Art classes at Heartland Community
College, highlighting the variety of courses offered and featuring
the College’s exceptional studio spaces. Evans was assigned the
project by Heartland Community College’s Marketing Team and worked
with her teammate, Calvert, to shoot the footage and put the
commercial together.
