Hate will not be tolerated in the city of Lincoln

At the Tuesday evening Committee of the Whole of the Lincoln City Council, Alderman Sam Downs spoke up about an issue that is occurring in the city of Lincoln.

He noted that fliers are being distributed promoting hatred among the people. He said this is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.

The Lincoln Police Department has been made aware of the fliers and is actively seeking their source.

Kevin Bateman added to that, saying that Lincoln residents where the fliers have shown up should check their security cameras if they have them and see if they can spot someone distributing the fliers. He said the police department would be interested in seeing any video’s that are available.

Downs said the fliers are being distributed by a “hate group,” but offered no additional details of where the fliers are showing up.

Residents are asked to be aware of such fliers and to let police know if the fliers show up in their neighborhoods.
