Central Illinois (CAPCIL) Hosts Blitz Week August 3rd through 6th
LIHEAP and rental/mortgage assistance
offered at outdoor 'walk-up' event

CAPCIL’s Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
and Disaster Relief Unit (DRU) are coming together to provide an
event that provides walk in appointments for energy and
rental/mortgage assistance. Blitz Week will be hosted at the CAPCIL
Corporate Office located at 1800 5th Street in Lincoln on August 3rd
through August 6th from 9:00am-2:00pm each day. This event is open
to all six counties within CAPCIL’s service area including Dewitt,
Fulton, Logan, Mason, Menard and Piatt Counties.
Qualifications include households in need of energy and or
rental/mortgage assistance, disconnection or eviction notices, high
past due balances, and those that have been financially affected by
COVID-19. Applicants are required to bring in proper documentation
to be able to apply for assistance.

Documents include all social security cards for everyone in the household,
30-day income for everyone in the household and their most recent bill or lease
agreement.
Due to social distancing, this event will be held outdoors with sit down
appointments available indoors. The event will also host additional programs and
services to provide a variety of resources. CAPCIL does request that face masks
are worn during the event to protect all persons in attendance. All applicants
each day of Blitz Week will be treated on a first come first serve basis with
wait times expected.
