looking forward return of students

Summers on campus at LCU are generally slower and calmer than the
months when school is in full session. Preparation for fall is under
way - faculty are creating their classes and organizing their
syllabuses, staff are recruiting students and planning for their
return to campus. But the absence of most students from our dorms,
classrooms, and office workspaces enables a respite of peace and
quiet.
This sense of serenity is embraced for the first handful of weeks
after students depart in May. A break in pace is always welcome.
After that, though, there is nearly unanimous agreement from LCU
employees on one core matter:
We want our students back!
Students are the lifeblood and purpose of this place, and it doesn’t
take long for us to start missing them and eagerly await their
return in August. This year, in particular, we want our students
back. They have been home since mid-March, and though their
education continued online, we long for our campus family to be
restored and to share in worship and learning and growing together
again.
Thankfully, though the COVID-19 pandemic necessitates some
additional health and safety measures and some adaptations in how
our campus community interacts and operates, we have announced our
intention to open fully and residentially this fall.

As such, the LCU leadership team covets your prayers for the fall
semester:
-
For
no large outbreak and spread of the virus on our campus or in
our Lincoln and Logan County community
-
For
widespread buy-in to the new rules and guidelines we’re
implementing as we attempt to keep people healthy
-
For
adequate new student and returning student enrollment
-
For
success in fundraising initiatives
-
For,
under historically unusual circumstances, the continued
realization of our mission to nurture and equip Kingdom leaders
Thank you for supporting the unique work we do here at LCU. Until
our Savior returns, we believe there is no more important cause than
the preparation and empowerment of students who dedicate their lives
to sharing the Gospel.
