Ashley Miller of Atlanta, was selected as the 2020 Illinois Beef
Association (IBA) Outstanding Junior of the Year.
Ashley Miller’s youth leadership involvement and dedication to the
beef industry awarded her the title. She is currently serving her
second term on the Illinois Junior Beef Association (IJBA) board of
directors as the vice president. In addition to IJBA, she has also
served on the American Chianina Association (ACA) junior board of
directors.
“I am so appreciative of the opportunity to serve on both state and
national junior boards. Leadership service has allowed me to give
back to the next generation of cattlemen and women through education
and guidance,” Ashley said.
Ashley grew up on a third generation cow-calf farm. The Miller
family originally established their cattle herd with a predominantly
Hereford and Angus focus. Over the years, they have slowly started
incorporating more breeds into their operation. As soon as Ashley
was old enough to show, the family began to purchase heifers that
would have an influence on the diverse set of cows they have today.

“Growing up, agriculture was just something that my dad incorporated into our
day-to-day lives,” she said.
Ashley was immediately immersed in the agriculture industry at a young age and
she hopes to continue to share her passion for livestock in her future career.
Ashley will be graduating from Oklahoma State University in the spring of 2021
with a degree in agriculture business. After graduation, she hopes to become a
pharmaceutical sales representative.
