Lincoln Woman's Club donates shoes to Soles4Souls

For the second year, GFWC Lincoln Woman’s Club has directly supported Soles4Souls, a charity that creates sustainable jobs and provides relief through the redistribution of shoes around the world.

The organization advances its anti-poverty mission by collecting new and used shoes from individuals, schools, faith-based institutions, civic organizations and corporate partners, then distributing those shoes both via direct donations to people in need and by provisioning qualified micro-enterprise programs designed to create jobs in poor and disadvantaged communities.

Since it began, the charity has distributed more than 30 million pairs of shoes in 127 countries. Pictured is LWC club member Vicki Broughton with Soles4Souls volunteer Judy Huff, who is accepting 115 pairs of shoes collected by the Lincoln club at the East Peoria shoe collection warehouse.
