Three LCHS Seniors Selected as Lucille Flick Larson Scholarship Awardees

 

[June 02, 2020]   Three Lincoln Community High School seniors have been selected as scholarship recipients of the Lucille Flick Larson Scholarship Trust.

Faith Nicole Turley is the daughter of Brian and Audra Turley. She will attend Lakeland University and plans to study secondary education with an emphasis in History. Faith has served the community as a homework tutor at Lincoln Junior High School and has led soccer camps for Haitian children. At LCHS, she was a key member of the girl’s soccer team, various dance teams, and the National Honor Society.

Addison Yeazle is the daughter of Ginger Chaudoin and Jeff Yeazle. She will attend Northern Illinois University to prepare for a career in special education for the primary grades. Addison has volunteered in special education classrooms in District 27. At LCHS, she was the captain of the football and basketball cheer teams and was active in NHS and the Leaf Club.



Alexis Erb is the daughter of Brian and Linda Erb. She will attend Illinois State University to prepare for a career as a Spanish teacher.

For two years, Alexis volunteered as a tutor in the Freshman Academy program at LCHS. She has also been a key member of the girl’s soccer team, National Honor Society and Spanish Club.

Each student will receive at least $1,250 per semester for up to eight semesters of their undergraduate career if they maintain a “B” average.

Mr. Arthur Larson established this scholarship in 1994 in memory of his wife, Lucille Flick Larson. Mrs. Larson taught school for 38 years. She was a graduate of Lincoln Community High School, and she also attended Lincoln College, Normal Teachers’ College and the University of Michigan. Throughout her career she dedicated herself to excellence in education and provided a caring haven for her students.
